Cumberland Falls Resort

Called the “Niagara of the South”, this popular tour destination, with its thundering falls and its mysterious moonbow, adds a touch of wonder. The 125 foot wide falls drops 68 feet into the Cumberland River and under a full moon, shows the only "moonbow" in the Western Hemisphere. It is dramatic day or night.

The park's attractions include nature trails, fishing, recreation area, swimming, white water rafting, horseback trail rides, picnicking and playgrounds.

Park attractions: The Bob Blair Museum, located in the lodge, features Native American artifacts and exhibits relating to area plants, animals, and history. The Gift Shop features a
large selection of Kentucky handcrafts. The gift and coffee shop are both located in the falls area.

Nature Trails: Cumberland Falls is a hiker's paradise, with 20 miles of hiking trails that wind through the Park to scenic areas. The Moonbow Trail connects with many backpacking trails in the Daniel Boone National Forest.

Fishing: Enjoy fishing in the Cumberland River where there is an abundance of bass, catfish, panfish, and roughfish.

Recreation areas: Enjoy tennis, horseshoes or shuffleboard on the outdoor courts near the Woodland Rooms. Overnight guests may checkout sports equipment.

Swimming: Cool off on a hot summer day with a dip in an Olympic-size pool. Open Memorial - Labor Day. Non-guest fee.

White Water Rafting: Guided rafting trips are offered on the Cumberland River. Open daily, May - October depending on water levels.  (606) 679-6026

Horse Stables: Guided horseback trail rides are available daily. Open Memorial - Labor Day. Fee.

The park's facilities include the historic Dupont Lodge with 52 full amenity rooms. Built of massive hemlock beams and knotty pine, it offers a spectacular view of the Cumberland River valley. Adjacent to the lodge are the Woodland Rooms which are duplex rooms featuring daily maid service, wet bars and small refrigerators. One and two-bedrooms cottages offer unique appeal. They are equipped with tableware and cooking utensils. Fresh linens are provided daily. All have fireplaces.

Camping: You can enjoy the great outdoors at one of 50 campsites with electric and water hookups. The campground has a central service building with showers and rest rooms, a grocery and a dump station. Seasonal, April I-October 31.
