GREATER CORBIN
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Our Mission Statement:

"To create an environment in which area businesses are provided every opportunity to grow and prosper, while preserving the quality of life we treasure in our community."

Thriving through an Entrepreneurial Spirit which gained national recognition by the success of the late Colonel Harland Sanders who started his restaurant business here in the 1930’s, Corbin manifests today the growth and future potential made possible by that Spirit.

Our area is blessed with a tremendous variety of small successful businesses, as well as companies that do business with customers in many parts of the world. Companies such as CTA Acoustics and Aisin Automotive play prominent roles as suppliers to major automotive manufacturers. Jack and Katherine Day built the local Pepsi Cola Bottling Company into the highest penetration territory in the nation for Pepsi Cola products. The third Generation of the Day family now leads the company, with Bill Hoover as its president, aptly maintaining the growth and success started by his grandparents.

Baptist Regional Medical Center, located here in Corbin, provides over 1000 jobs to the community, and in 2002 received the Governor’s Gold Quality Award.

Along with our ongoing commitment to Corbin's Chamber Vision, during 2005 there are two important tasks we also seek to accomplish:

  1. Provide training, information and support to existing companies that are the lifeblood of the economic health of our area, and to enhance their capability to expand and grow profitably.

    Baptist Regional Medical Center

  2. Provide a positive, opportunistic business environment that will attract new companies and new residents to our area.

This year we plan to provide our Chamber Members superlative programs and a forum to work together to strengthen the business health of our area. It is a privilege for me to serve this year as President of the Greater Corbin Chamber of Commerce. It is a pleasure to work with business leaders and community volunteers who are devoted to the success of our community.

Please accept my personal invitation to become a member of the Greater Corbin Chamber of Commerce and add your ideas and abilities to the collective pool of energetic people who want to make our community even better in 2005.

Sincerely,

Marlon Sams
